According to the numbered 2019/265 decision of the Personal Data Protection Board (KVKK) dated 03/09/2019, obligation to register at Data Controllers' Registry Information System ("VERBIS") has been extended until 31.12.2019.
With the relevant decision,
It has been concluded that the deadline to be extended until 31.12.2019 for natural and legal person data controllers with an annual number of employees of more than 50 or annual financial balance of more than 25 million TL and natural and legal person data controllers residing in abroad to fulfill the obligation of registering at VERBIS and this decision to be announced at the website of the Board and to be published in the Official Gazette.
We would like to emphasize that the relevant decision did not bring any change other than the deadline to register with VERBIS portal regarding compliance with the 6698 numbered Law on the Personal Data Protection. Regarding personal data processing, natural and legal persons that process personal data to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms, particularly the right to privacy of persons, have to complete their compliance processes regarding their administrative and technical obligations.
