With the Law no:7420 published on the Official Gazette dated 9 November 2022 and numbered 32008, new regulations on Income Tax Law have been announced.

With the new Omnibus Law, cash meal allowance and heating allowance tax exemption regulations can be summarized as below::

The below payments would be exempt from income tax:

The benefits provided by the employers should be paid to the meal service providers (catering firms) and the exemption limit would 51 TRY. In case the payment exceeds this amount, the excess amount and the cash payments made to the employees as meal cost and the benefits provided for this purpose are subject to taxation.

The deadline for 2022 annual income tax returns is 31.03.2023.

For 2022 tax year, an annual income tax return should be submitted for the income taxed via withholding in the below cases:

  • In case of total income amount of employees, who receive salary income from a single employer, exceeds the amount indicated in the fourth income bracket (880.000 TRY for 2022) of the tariff written in the 103rd article,
  • In case of total income amount of employees, who receive salary income from more than one employer, exceeds the amount indicated in the fourth income bracket (880.000 TRY for 2022), including the income received from primary employer,
  • In case of employees who receive income from more than one employer, total income received from the secondary employers exceeds the amount in the second income segment of the income tax tariff (70.000 TRY for 2022),

Rule 1: Make sure you really need a meeting before scheduling it.

Rule 7: Start on time & don’t wait for stragglers; otherwise, waiting for participants will become a culture within the company.

Rule 8: A few minutes of chit-chat at the beginning of the meeting helps participants to be ready.

Rule 9: Every meeting needs someone clearly assigned ahead of time to run it.

Rule 10: End on time. Meetings that take longer than necessary will demotivate the participants.

Rule 11: At the end of each meeting, you either need to make a decision or complete an action together.

Rule 12: Share all the results, meeting notes and materials obtained at the end of the meeting with the participants.
